Assignment 7 - Waking up slowly

For this assignment, I used the first sound project I completed to recreate somebody waking up. I wanted to make it as realistic as possible so used very little Photoshop or special effects. I had to take new photos to create the montage, and again I struggled with lighting in a dark room. I did however, love playing around with reflections - for example the reflection in the photo while my roommate is sitting on the toilet.

Anyway! Enjoy.

NOTE: All the sounds I captured are from within my apartment, with the exception of the urination sound which I grabbed off the internet. I thought it might be a bit much to ask my roommate to let me sound record her going to the bathroom....

Audio Recordings

For this assignment I used a mixture of sounds I captured last week and sounds I took from the internet. I uploaded two to my SoundCloud that are very similar. I am working on a third now that is completely different - hopefully I will have it up later in the evening.

See everyone tomorrow.

Assignment #5: Photoshop ROUND 2!

Alright, I felt inspired. Here is my second attempt at Photoshop....

It is safe to say, that Photoshop is not my strongest skill. That said, I was really eager to try to fix some of the problems I had with my original photos. For two of the photos (motorcycle and one of the bedroom scenes) I wanted to try to correct the lighting issues. For the last three (photojournalism photos) I was more interested in specific elements of the image.

Then I decided to make things way more difficult ... Although I knew it was going to be a challenge, I really wanted to try to remove some of the figures in the images below that I felt took away from the focal point. Most of the changes are still pretty obvious, but hopefully that is something I can still fix.
Note: I am well aware that the changes are far from perfect.

Assignment 4: Narrative Photo Essay

 Narrative Photo Essay

For this assignment I wanted to try one narrative photo essay with people and one without. I am lucky enough to have a few friends in acting school here in NYC so I took some photos of them rehearsing a scene. Unfortunately, because they were actually rehearsing -  I was limited in many respects. That said, they did agree to let me come try it again, which I will absolutely be taking them up on.
