#getsocial

Deciding what my advertisement was going to be about and a developing the creative elements was no easy task. Having worked as a social media consultant, I decided to create an #getsocial, a fictional social media consultant group. When I first approached the assignment I decided to look back at some of the ads that have really resonated with me over the past few years. One that really stood out was the 'got milk' campaign. Thus, the #getsocial campaign was born.

During last weeks assignment, I was able to solidify the fact that I preferred an ad that was simple, balanced and not text heavy. That said, I used a simple slogan with a hashtag, an obvious reference to social media, to help get my message across. I referred back the 'got milk' campaign by using the Phenix American CG as the font. The darker background with white text allows the audience to immediately find the information and the use of white space, symmetry and textual flow to make the ad easy to digest.
